An Interview with Dave Rose
Q. Dave how long have you been piercing?
A. I have been piercing for almost two years now.
Q. Do you live in Lynchburg?
A. Yes, I am a Lynchburg native; I have been here for a long
time.
Q. What is your schedule at the studio?
A. I usually work Mondays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays. I am here a
lot and enjoy every minute.
Q. Do you like piercing?
A. Yes, I really do. I am constantly seeking to further my
education and working to better my skills at any opportunity.
Q. What is your favorite part of this job?
A. Definitely working with the clients, and I really enjoy working
with the jewelry as well.
Q. Speaking of your passion for jewelry, I heard you make custom
jewelry- is that true?
A. Yes, I have to admit I love working with jewelry in all
aspects. There are many materials that I enjoy working with but I
have been making a lot of custom plugs from different exotic woods
lately. I also do all the customized jewelry displays at
Body-Element.
Q. What would you say is your primary focus with your
piercing?
A. Staying on top of what is going on in the industry. I stay in
touch with a lot of other piercers and jewelry designers. I
recently attended the Association of Professional Piercers
conference and clocked in twenty five hours of continuing
education. I took classes in everything from jewelry material
safety to bedside manners and sterility.
Q. What kind of relationship do you have with your clients?
A. I try really hard to earn my clients' trust. I am dedicated to
the ethical and delicate treatment of my clients. I make myself
available to my clients anytime, all they have to do is contact
me.
Q. What advice would you give any potential piercing
clients?
A. Look at portfolios, ask questions and do things the right way.
Hook with a professional piercer and get good piercings, and always
use good quality jewelry in those holes.
Q. What do you think about
Body-Element?
A. I am definitely excited about the large jewelry selection and
the variety of aftercare available. I think it is good that we can
provide consistent service and information for our clients as well
as high quality products.
